Porter is a mountain biking route on Washington land managed by the State Department of Natural Resources, about 9 miles from Elma. It sits at roughly 1,140 feet and stays almost perfectly level, varying by only a couple of feet from end to end, with no measurable climbing one way. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from the nearby Elma weather station show July and August highs around 78 to 80°F with only six or seven wet days a month. That station sits about 1,075 feet lower, so temperatures on the route run cooler. The closest neighbor is Porter Trail, half a mile away, and C-2710 is about 1.6 miles off for more riding. Hikers can try Porter Tie Trail at 2.2 miles, and paddlers can head to Porter Creek, about 2.5 miles away.
