Porter is a short, low-elevation mountain biking route in Washington, managed by the State Department of Natural Resources. It is an out-and-back ride of about 1.3 miles, with a total climb of 171 feet from a starting point near 1,356 feet to a high point of 1,367 feet. The route is roughly flat, with the steepest stretch at about 0.35 miles in, where the grade reaches 6 percent. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Elma show July and August highs around 78 to 80°F, with only six to seven wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the upper 40s and rain on most days. That station sits well below the route, so temperatures on the climb run cooler. Porter Trail lies about 1.4 miles away, and the C-2710 and C-2714 routes are within 2 miles. For paddling, Porter Creek is about 3.2 miles off.
