Greenline Climbing is a short, low-elevation mountain biking route in Washington, managed by the State Department of Natural Resources. It sits about a quarter mile from the Greenline trail, which makes it an easy addition to a ride on that route. The climb is an out-and-back of about half a mile, with a total gain of 48 feet. The route starts at roughly 1,145 feet and reaches a high point of about 1,154 feet, with the steepest stretch at the start, around 5 percent grade. The climb is front-loaded, so the most elevation is gained early on. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Olympia show July and August highs around 78°F with only about five wet days a month, while winter brings highs in the mid-40s and rain on 20 days a month. That station sits well below the route, so temperatures on the climb run cooler. Nearby, the Greenline trail is about 0.2 miles away, and the Little Larch Mountain routes are about 0.8 miles off. Paddlers can find Sherman Creek about 1.9 miles away.
