Wheeler Canyon is a mountain biking route in the Ogden Ranger District of Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, managed by the Forest Service. The trip covers about 1.5 miles, rising roughly 500 feet from a low point around 4,980 feet to a high of about 5,492 feet. For comfortable riding, late spring and early fall are the best bets. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Pineview Dam run to highs of about 66°F in May and 75°F in September, with July the warmest month at about 87°F. Winter is cold, with January highs around freezing. The Icebox and Wheeler Creek mountain biking trails both start within about a mile. Maples Campground and Anderson Cove are about 2 miles away, and the Ogden River offers paddling a little farther out.
