Moon Lake is a Forest Service campground in the Roosevelt Ranger District of Ashley National Forest in southeastern Utah. It sits at a high elevation of about 8,125 feet, and it is managed by the Forest Service. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Moon Lake put July and August highs around 77°F with lows near 48°F, while winter highs stay near freezing. The site has a fee. That makes it a practical base for exploring the surrounding trails, which begin just steps away. Lake Fork Trail starts about 0.1 mile off, and Brown Duck A Trail is about 0.3 mile away. Rock Creek Group Campground and Miners Gulch are both about 6 miles away.
