Williamson River Cliffs is a climbing area in Oregon's Fremont-Winema National Forest, on the Chiloquin Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the land, and the cliffs sit close to two other climbing areas, Elephant Wall and 1st Wall, each about a tenth of a mile away. The climbing here ranges from traditional routes to one sport climb. Three routes are listed: Freaky is a sport route at 5.7, and Mellow Yellow and Bold and Beautiful are both trad routes, with the latter graded 5.11c. Bold and Beautiful was first climbed by Bill Byrnes in 2006. Summer is the most settled time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run from highs around 75°F in June to about 85°F in July, with only a few wet days a month. That station sits a few hundred feet lower than the cliffs, so temperatures up high may run a little cooler. Winter brings highs near 39°F and regular snow days from December through January. Williamson River Campground is about a mile away, and the Williamson River CG hike is a little farther. Jackson F Kimball Campground lies roughly 8 miles off, and the Williamson River fishing area is about 6 miles away.
