Williamson River Campground is a Forest Service campground in the Chiloquin Ranger District of Oregon's Fremont-Winema National Forest, about 8 miles from the town of Chiloquin. The land is managed by the Forest Service, and the site is a simple base for overnight stays in this corner of the forest. The campground has vault toilets, and a fee is charged for use. The most comfortable stretch for a visit runs from June through September, when typical averages from a nearby weather station show highs in the mid-70s to mid-80s and only a few wet days a month. Winter is cold and snowy, with typical highs around 39°F and snow on six to seven days a month from December through January. The Williamson River Cliffs climbing area sits about a mile away, and the 1st Wall and Elephant Wall climbing areas are each roughly 0.9 miles off. For fishing, the Williamson River is about 5.4 miles away.
