Eagles Rest is a climbing area in Oregon on Bureau of Land Management land within the Nw Oregon Upper Willamette Field Office. It sits among several named climbing areas, with (E) Sun Deck and (F) Bomb Shelter each about 0.1 mile away, and the Eagle's Rest hike about 0.2 mile off. The area has 12 sport routes, with grades ranging from 5.6 to 5.12d. Bazingies is the easiest at 5.6, and Bones of Ymir and Endorphin Port sit in the 5.10d to 5.12b range. The Shikimate Pathway is 5.11c, and Upper Decker is the hardest at 5.12d. Summer is the most comfortable time to climb. Typical averages from the Oakridge Fish Hatchery weather station, about 17 miles away, show July and August highs around 80 to 81°F with only two or three wet days a month. That station sits roughly 1,600 feet lower than the climbing area, so temperatures at the crag run cooler. Nearby, the Goodman Creek hike is about 1.8 miles away, and Winberry Creek offers canoeing about 6 miles out. Black Canyon Campground (Willamette National Forest, OR) is about 8 miles away.
