Sun Deck is a sport climbing area in Oregon on Bureau of Land Management land within the Nw Oregon Upper Willamette Field Office. It sits among a cluster of climbing and hiking spots, with Eagles Rest and (F) Bomb Shelter both about 0.1 mile away and Eagle's Rest about 0.2 mile off. The climbing here is all sport, and the routes run from 5.10+ up to 5.13b. Among the named routes are You Only Live Twice at 5.10+, Shapes and Colors at 5.11a, and Mindshift at 5.13b. The area is managed by the Bureau of Land Management. Summer is the most comfortable time to climb. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Oakridge Fish Hatchery show July and August highs around 80 to 81°F with only two or three wet days a month, while winter brings highs in the low 40s and rain on more than half the days. That station sits well below the climbing area, so temperatures up high run cooler. Nearby, Goodman Creek offers a hike about 1.7 miles away, and Winberry Creek has canoeing about 6 miles out. Black Canyon Campground (Willamette National Forest, OR) is about 8 miles away.
