Upper Dan's Trail is a short mountain biking ride in Oregon's Philomath Unit, about 0.37 miles long with an elevation gain of 198 feet. The climb is an out-and-back, with a low point of 661 feet and a high of 875 feet, making it an easy route for a quick outing. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Corvallis run to highs of about 83 to 84°F in July and August, with only two or three wet days a month. That station sits about 650 feet below the trail, so temperatures on the climb run cooler. Several trails lie close by. Middle Dan's Trail is about 0.2 miles away, and Lower Dan's Trail is about 0.5 miles away. For hiking, Upper Horse Trail and Beautiful Trail are each about 0.4 miles off. Paddlers can reach the East Channel Willamette River, about 4.8 miles away.
