Upper Dan's Trail is a mountain biking route in Oregon's Philomath Unit, about a mile from the town of Philomath. It's an out-and-back that climbs from 875 feet to 1,398 feet over about 2 miles, with a steepest stretch of 16% at roughly the 0.9-mile mark. The trail is rated easy, and the one-way elevation gain is 520 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. A nearby weather station in Corvallis records typical July and August highs in the low 80s and only about three wet days a month, while winter brings typical highs in the upper 40s and rain on more than 20 days a month. That station sits well below the trail, so temperatures on the climb run cooler. Several other routes start close by. Middle Dan's Trail, about half a mile away, and Beautiful Trail, about 0.2 miles away, are the nearest options for more riding or hiking. Paddlers can reach the East Channel Willamette River about 5 miles off.
