Carnival is a short mountain biking route in Oregon's Philomath Unit, a little over a tenth of a mile from the town of Philomath. It is a hard ride for its length, covering 0.26 miles out and back on a climb of about 420 feet, with a steepest section of 20% grade near the start. The route begins at a low point of 1,485 feet and rises to a high of 1,691 feet, and it works both ways, with the same gain and loss on the return. The most comfortable months for riding are July and August, when typical averages from a nearby weather station show highs in the low 80s and only about four wet days a month. That station sits nearly 1,100 feet lower than the route, so temperatures on Carnival run cooler. The closest trails are Play Time and Lower Play Time, both hikes about 0.1 mile away. Mountain bikers can also reach Southside Slip at 0.4 mile and Innuendo at 0.5 mile.
