Lasso Loop

Lasso Loop is a short mountain biking route in L.L. "Stub" Stewart State Park in Oregon, on city-managed land. The loop is an out-and-back of about 0.3 miles, with the high point at 1,244 feet and the low at 1,224 feet. The route is nearly flat, with no elevation gain, and the steepest stretch comes at about 0.09 miles in, with an 8% grade. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Vernonia show July and August highs around 77 to 78°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the mid-40s and rain on 20 days a month. Several other mountain biking routes sit close by, including Peavey Hook Bridleway about 0.1 mile away and Brush Monkey and North Caddywhomper Way each about 0.2 mile away. For paddling, the Nehalem River is roughly 7 miles off.
