Greenhorn Trail (upper) is a mountain biking route in L.L. "Stub" Stewart State Park in Oregon, on city-managed land. The trail is short, about half a mile out and back, and it's rated hard. It's a technical ride with man-made features, including rollable jumps and dirt bermed turns, so it's built for riders who want to work the terrain rather than just ride it. The climb is steep in the first third of the route, with a 14% grade at about 0.13 miles. The total elevation gain is 364 feet, and the trail reaches a high point of about 1,367 feet before returning to the low point of about 1,197 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Vernonia show July and August highs around 77 to 78°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the mid-40s and rain on 20 days a month. Several other trails sit about 0.1 mile away, including Rinse and Repeat, Railyard and Rise and Shine for mountain biking, and Drip Torch Trail for hiking. Paddlers can find the Nehalem River about 7 miles off.
