Underhill Trail is a 2.8-mile point-to-point hike in Oregon's Mt. Hood National Forest, within the Barlow Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail rises from about 2,800 feet to about 3,600 feet, with a total elevation gain of 890 feet. The route is rated easy, and the climb is most pronounced around the 2-mile mark, where the grade reaches about 24%. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Government Camp show July and August highs around 70°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the mid-30s and rain on most days. The trail starts close to Cedar Creek, and Underhill Campground sits about 1.3 miles away. Climbers can head to Campfire boulders, about 2.5 miles off, and the Fifteenmile Trail #456 is about 3 miles away.
