Tenas Peak is a 5.8-mile out-and-back hike in the Diamond Lake Ranger District of Oregon's Umpqua National Forest, managed by the Forest Service. The route rises from about 4,500 feet to nearly 5,775 feet, with a total elevation gain of 1,845 feet, and it's rated moderate. The trail is natural-surface and allows horses, but it is not accessible. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. At the Odell Lake-East weather station, about 16 miles away, July and August typically average highs in the low 70s and only about three wet days a month. Winter brings highs in the mid-30s and regular snow. The trail is open from June 1 to October 30. Plan on about three hours for the round trip. Kelsay Valley Horse Camp sits about a mile away, and Windigo Pass is just over a mile off. Calamut Way and the North Umpqua Trail are both within about 2 miles.
