Sutton Creek North is a 3-mile out-and-back hike in the Central Coast Ranger District-ODNRA of Siuslaw National Forest, in Oregon. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail sits about 0.2 miles from Sutton Campground, making it an easy addition to a stay at the camp. The hike is rated moderate. It rises about 100 feet from the trail's start, with the steepest stretch at roughly a third of a mile in, where the grade reaches about 7%. The trail surface is natural, and bikes are allowed. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. A nearby weather station in Florence records typical July averages of 68°F for highs and 50°F for lows, with only about five wet days in the month. Winter brings highs in the upper 40s and rain on more than 20 days a month. Several other outings are close by. Sutton Lake Trail and the Sutton Campground Tie Trail both lie about 0.3 miles away, Alder Dune Trail is about 0.9 miles off, and Sutton Creek, a paddling spot, is about 0.8 miles away.
