Siltcoos Lake Trail is a moderate hike of about 6 miles in the Central Coast Ranger District-ODNRA of Siuslaw National Forest in Oregon, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is an out-and-back that gains about 1,100 feet in elevation over the course of the round trip, with the steepest stretch coming around mile 1.6. The trail surface is natural, and bikes are allowed. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run to highs of about 67°F in July and August, while winter highs sit in the upper 40s. That station sits a few hundred feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the route run a little cooler. Taylor Dunes Trail and Waxmyrtle Campground are each about 0.7 miles away, and Lagoon Campground and Carter Lake Campground are about 0.9 miles away.
