Alder Lake Trail is a short, easy loop in Oregon's Siuslaw National Forest, within the Central Coast Ranger District-ODNRA. The trail is about 1.3 miles long, with a low point of 88 feet and a high of 129 feet, and it gains about 25 feet of elevation. The route is natural-surfaced and open to bikes, and it makes a quick outing for anyone already camping or hiking in the area. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the Florence #2 weather station, about 4.5 miles away, show July highs near 68°F with only about five wet days, while winter months bring highs in the upper 40s and rain on more than 20 days. The trail sits right next to Alder Dune Campground, about 0.1 mile away, and Alder Dune Trail is about 0.2 mile off. Sutton Creek, a canoeing spot, and Sutton Campground are both within about a mile.
