Rye Flat Loop is a 4-mile out-and-back hike in the High Cascades Ranger District of the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forests in southern Oregon, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is rated moderate, with a total climb of about 1,070 feet and a high point of roughly 5,567 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Howard Prairie Dam show July and August highs around 79°F with only two or three wet days a month, while winter brings highs in the mid-30s and regular snow days. The trail is natural-surface and bikes are allowed. It is not an accessible route. Fish Lake Campground and the High Lakes Nordic Trail are both about 1.6 miles away, and Fish Lake is about 2 miles off. North Fork Campground is about 2 miles away.
