Freye Lake is a short, easy hike in the Sky Lakes Wilderness, part of the Klamath Ranger District of the Fremont-Winema National Forest in southern Oregon. The trail is about 0.4 miles long, with a total elevation gain of 87 feet, and it makes an out-and-back trip from a low point of 6,231 feet to a high of 6,292 feet. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is natural-surfaced and not accessible. The hike is open from June 1 to October 31, and it takes about half an hour to complete. Bikes are not allowed on this trail. Mt. Mcloughlin Trail lies about 0.4 miles away, and Twin Ponds Trail is about 1.7 miles off. For an overnight stay, Fourmile Lake Campground is about 1.9 miles away and Fish Lake Campground is about 3.6 miles away.
