Rock Creek 900 is a hard hike in the Barlow Ranger District of Mt. Hood National Forest in Oregon, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is about 8 miles long, with a total climb of roughly 1,500 feet, and it is an out-and-back route that starts and ends at about 3,445 feet. The climb is front-loaded, with the steepest stretch at about 3.2 miles in, where the grade reaches 15%. The high point is around 4,554 feet, and the trail is natural-surfaced. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Government Camp weather station show July and August highs around 70°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter brings highs in the mid-30s and rain on most days.
