Robinson Butte Loop Snomo is a 2.23-mile moderate hike in the High Cascades Ranger District of the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forests in southern Oregon, managed by the Forest Service. The route is an out-and-back that starts at about 4,819 feet and climbs to a high point of 5,308 feet, with a total gain of 1,297 feet over the round trip. The steepest stretch comes at about 1.9 miles in, where the grade reaches 16%. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the Howard Prairie Dam weather station, about 9 miles away, show July and August highs near 79°F with only two or three wet days a month, while winter brings highs in the mid-30s and regular snow days. The trip takes about two hours. Big Elk Guard Station, a campground, sits just 0.3 miles away, and Fish Lake and North Fork Campground are both about 1.4 miles off. Paddlers can head to South Fork Little Butte Creek, roughly 2 miles away.
