Post Camp is a moderate out-and-back hike of about 5.4 miles in the Badger Creek Wilderness, part of the Barlow Ranger District of Mt. Hood National Forest in Oregon. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail's natural surface makes it a straightforward route for a day in the wilderness. The climb is a round trip of about 3,073 feet, with the high point at 4,447 feet. The steepest stretch comes early, at about 0.2 miles from the start, where the grade reaches 26 percent. The trail begins near 4,443 feet and ends at a similar elevation, so the total gain and loss are equal. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Government Camp weather station show July and August highs around 70°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the mid-30s and rain on most days. Mud Spring Trail #466A starts just 0.1 mile away, and Pine Creek Trail is about 0.8 mile off. For an overnight stay, Badger Lake and Boulder Lake campgrounds are both within about 4 miles.
