Northwest Firelane 1 Road is a 2-mile out-and-back hike in Forest Park, Oregon, on city-managed land. The route rises from a low point of about 60 feet to a high of 288 feet, with a total elevation gain of 326 feet. The steepest stretch comes at about 0.84 miles, where the grade reaches 19 percent. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July and August highs around 80 to 81°F, with only three or four wet days a month. Winter is cooler and wetter, with highs in the mid-40s and rain on 16 to 20 days a month. The road sits close to several other routes. Northwest Leif Erikson Drive and Northwest Saltzman Road are both within half a mile, and Northwest Firelane 3 Road is about 0.5 miles away. For paddling, Beaverton Creek is roughly 6.7 miles off.
