Wild Cherry Trail is a moderate hike of about 1.6 miles in Forest Park, a city-managed land unit in Portland, Oregon. The trail is an out-and-back, with the high point at 859 feet and a total climb of 856 feet, which makes the trip a bit more involved than a simple walk. It starts and ends at the low point, 388 feet, so the elevation gain is split between the two legs. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. A nearby weather station records typical July and August highs around 80 to 81°F, with only three to four wet days a month, while winter months see rain on more than half the days and highs in the mid-40s. The trail sits close to other outdoor options. Northwest Leif Erikson Drive, a mountain biking route, is just 0.2 miles away, and Dogwood Trail and Alder Trail are both within a mile. Paddlers can reach Fanno Creek about 6 miles off.
