Mountain Lakes Loop is an 8.2-mile loop hike in the Mountain Lakes Wilderness, part of the Klamath Ranger District of the Fremont-Winema National Forest in southern Oregon. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is rated hard. The route is a steady climb, with a total gain of 1,653 feet and a total loss of 1,997 feet over the loop. The highest point is about 7,561 feet, and the steepest stretch comes at roughly 0.87 miles in, with a grade of about 31 percent. The trail is natural-surface and not accessible. Horses are allowed, but bikes are not. Several other routes lie within a few miles, including the Mountain Lakes Loop Trail, South Pass Lake and Mountain Lakes. For an overnight stay, Sunset - Lake of the Woods (OR) is about 4.3 miles away.
