Little Silver Lake is a 2.8-mile out-and-back hike in the Wild Rivers Ranger District of the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forests in southern Oregon. The trail crosses the natural surface of the national forest, which the Forest Service manages, and the route climbs from about 2,866 feet to a high point of 2,908 feet, with a total elevation gain of 1,659 feet for the round trip. The steepest stretch comes at about 0.74 miles, with a grade of 21 percent. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run to highs around 77°F in July and August, with only about two wet days a month, while winter brings highs in the low 40s and rain on roughly half the days. That station sits about 900 feet higher than the trail, so temperatures on the hike run a bit warmer. The trail is open year-round, and the trip should take about two hours. Horses and bikes are allowed. The trail is not accessible. Nearby, North Fork Silver Creek offers canoeing about 1.5 miles away, and the Silver Falls Overlook and Dutchy Creek hikes are each about 1.7 miles off. For an overnight stay, Grassy Flats campground is about 7 miles away.
