Little North Santiam is a hike of about 8.8 miles on an out-and-back route on Bureau of Land Management land along the Little North Santiam River in Oregon. The trail is rated hard, with a one-way climb of about 735 feet from a starting point of roughly 1,327 feet to a high of about 1,786 feet. The steepest stretch comes around the 1.1-mile mark, where the grade reaches about 45 percent. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. At a nearby weather station in Detroit Dam, typical July and August highs average about 80 to 81°F, with only four or five wet days a month. Winter brings typical highs in the low 40s and rain on most days. The trail is on natural surface, and bikes and horses are not allowed. Henline Falls and Henline Falls Trail #3348 are each about 1.5 miles away. Ogle Mountain is about 1.2 miles off, and Elkhorn Creek, a paddling spot, is about 2.1 miles away.
