Leprechaun Trail is a short, easy out-and-back hike in Oregon, about 1.1 miles from the community of South Beach. The trail is just over a mile long, with a total elevation gain of about 200 feet, and it reaches a high point of 261 feet. The climb is gentle, with the steepest stretch at about 0.23 miles in, and the trail is rated easy. The most comfortable months for a visit are late summer into early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Newport show September highs around 66°F with lows near 49°F, and the station sits about 250 feet lower than the trail's high point, so temperatures on the trail run a little cooler. The hike takes about half an hour, and it makes an easy pairing with other short walks in the area. Ballfield Trail and Meadows Trail both start about 0.2 miles away, and Mud Puddle Trail is about 0.4 miles off. For time on the water, Depot Slough is about 4.9 miles away.
