Heart Lake Trail #3407 is a short, moderate out-and-back hike in Oregon's Willamette National Forest, within the Sweet Home Ranger District. The trail is about 1.3 miles long, and it rises from roughly 5,555 feet to about 5,584 feet before returning to the trailhead. That makes the total climb about 1,487 feet round trip, with the steepest stretch coming at about 0.45 miles in. The high point of the route is about 5,584 feet, and the low point is around 4,909 feet. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail sits within a cluster of nearby hikes and campgrounds. Heart Lake and Gate Creek both lie within a mile of the trail. Lost Prairie campground is about 2.1 miles away, and Lakes End is about 3.5 miles out.
