Green Lakes is a hard hike in Oregon's Three Sisters Wilderness, within the Sisters Ranger District of Deschutes National Forest. The route is an out-and-back of about 25.6 miles, with a total elevation gain of 3,605 feet. The trail starts at roughly 6,209 feet and reaches a high point of 6,292 feet, with the steepest stretch at about 2.5 miles in, where the grade reaches 12 percent. The trail is on natural surface and allows horses. Bikes are not permitted. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is open year-round. Plan for about 10.5 hours on the trail. Golden Lake Trail lies about half a mile away, and Golden Lake Old Trail is about a mile off. Demaris Lake is about 2.1 miles away, and Three Creeks Meadow Campground is about 3.6 miles away.
