Gentle Ben Trail is a short, easy hike in Oregon, about 1.3 miles from the community of Holiday Beach. The trail is an out-and-back, roughly 0.78 miles long, with a total climb of about 106 feet and a high point of 248 feet. The steepest stretch comes early on, at about 0.1 mile, with a grade of about 6 percent. Summer and early fall are the mildest times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Newport show September highs around 66°F with lows near 49°F, while winter highs sit in the low 50s. Several other short trails lie close by, including Logjammin' Trail and Simple Jack Trail, each about 0.6 miles away, and Peewee's Trail at about 0.8 miles. For paddling, Beaver Creek is about 5 miles off.
