Eliot Glacier is a 2.1-mile out-and-back hike in Oregon's Mount Hood Wilderness, within the Hood River Ranger District of Mt. Hood National Forest. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is a natural-surface trail that climbs from about 6,019 feet to a high point of 6,838 feet. The climb is front-loaded, with the steepest stretch at 0.74 miles in, where the grade reaches 27 percent. The total gain is 822 feet, and the trip is estimated to take about an hour. The route is rated hard, and the climb is steep from the start. The trail is short, so the challenge lies in the grade rather than the distance. The Tilly Jane hike begins just 0.1 mile away, and the Eliot West Moraine hike is 0.3 mile off. Tilly Jane Guard Station, a campground, sits 0.4 mile from the trail. Nearby, the East Fork Hood River offers canoeing about 3.5 miles away, and Kinni Kinnik Campground is about 4.1 miles out.
