Cascade Head Trail is a 3.3-mile moderate hike in Oregon's Siuslaw National Forest, within the Hebo Ranger District and the Cascade Head National Scenic and Research Area. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail rises from about 46 feet to 1,272 feet, with a total elevation gain of 1,297 feet. The route is point to point, and the steepest stretch comes at about 1.7 miles in, where the grade reaches 32 percent. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July and August highs around 71 to 72°F with only about seven wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the upper 40s and rain on more than half the days. The trail is close to several other hikes. Ranch Hill Loop Trail is 0.4 miles away, and Old Baldy Trail and Salmon River Trail are each about 0.6 miles off. Paddlers can find Neskowin Creek about 4 miles away.
