Cascade Head is a 6-mile out-and-back hike in the Hebo Ranger District of Siuslaw National Forest in Oregon, managed by the Forest Service. It's a hard climb, with a one-way gain of 1,200 feet and a total round-trip gain of about 3,000 feet. The steepest section comes at about 2.2 miles in, with a 21% grade. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July and August highs around 71 to 72°F with only about seven wet days a month, while winter months see rain on roughly 20 to 27 days and highs in the upper 40s. Bikes are allowed on the natural-surface trail, and the route is not accessible. Other options close by include Hart's Cove, about 1.7 miles away, and Neskowin Creek, about 2 miles away, for paddling. The Cascade Head Trail and Ranch Hill Loop Trail are also within about 3 miles.
