Brooke Creek Trail is a short, easy out-and-back hike in L.L. "Stub" Stewart State Park in Oregon, on city-managed land. The trail is about a mile long, with a total elevation gain of 178 feet, and it starts and ends at roughly 836 feet, rising to 903 feet at the high point. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Vernonia show July and August highs around 77 to 78°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the mid-40s and rain on 20 days a month. The trip takes about half an hour, and the trail is close to other routes. Bailing Wire Jxt and Jackstrawed Tarry are both about 0.3 miles away, and the Spur Line mountain biking trail is the same distance off. Paddlers can reach the Nehalem River, about 6.7 miles away.
