Beautiful Trail is a short, easy hike in the Philomath Unit of Oregon, about 0.8 miles long with a one-way climb of 189 feet from a low point of 1,357 feet to a high of 1,548 feet. The route is a point-to-point path rather than a loop, and it works well for a quick outing close to town. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Corvallis show July and August highs around 83 to 84°F with only about three wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the upper 40s and rain on more than 20 days. Bikes and horses are both allowed on the trail, so it suits riders and equestrians as well as hikers. Upper Dan's Trail, a mountain biking route, starts just 0.2 miles away, and the Bombs Away hike is about 0.7 miles off. Paddlers can reach the East Channel Willamette River, roughly 5 miles away.
