Wickiup Campground sits along Forest Road 15 in the Blue Mountain Ranger District of Malheur National Forest, about 8 miles from the town of Seneca, Oregon. The Forest Service manages the land, and the camp is set among trees beside Canyon Creek, a place to relax in the shade and listen to the water flow past. Summer is the most comfortable season here. Typical July and August highs reach about 82°F with lows near 35 to 39°F and only three to four wet days a month, based on averages from the nearby Seneca weather station. Winter brings highs around 36°F and more frequent rain, but the road into the campground also makes a good starting point for snowmobile riders. Vault toilets are the only amenity listed, and a fee is charged for stays. The site works well as a base for hiking, stream fishing and wildlife viewing in summer and fall, with the East Fork Canyon Creek Trail #211 and Table Mountain Trail #217 both within a few miles. Bear Creek, about 3 miles away, offers canoeing, and Parish Cabin Campground is about 5 miles off.
