Murray is a Forest Service campground in the Prairie City Ranger District of Malheur National Forest in southeastern Oregon. The site is simple and low-key, with vault toilets as the only listed amenity, and a fee is charged for camping here. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Seneca weather station, which sits about 600 feet lower, run to highs near 82°F in July and August with only three or four wet days a month. Winters there are cold, with January highs around 36°F and lows near 11°F. Lake Creek, a canoeing spot, is about a mile away. The Mud Lake Trail #379 and Meadow Fork Trail #376 are both about 3 miles off. Big Creek Campground is roughly 3.4 miles away.
