Silver Creek Marsh Campground sits 30 minutes south of Silver Lake, Oregon, on the Silver Lake Ranger District of the Fremont-Winema National Forest, managed by the Forest Service. The camp is set in a forested area along Silver Creek, where the marsh and meadows make a pastoral base for fishing and camping. There are 15 campsites with picnic tables and fire rings, two vault toilets, and potable water. The site also has horse corrals with about six stalls that can hold 10 to 12 horses, plus five hitching rails. Bird watching, fishing, hiking and horseback riding all fit into the mix here. The Silver Creek Trailhead offers access to the Fremont National Recreation Trail #160 - Northern Segment, and the trail is well signed with mile markers and directions. Summer is the warmest stretch. A nearby weather station records typical July highs around 85°F with lows near 45°F, while September cools to typical highs of about 76°F with only a few wet days a month. The Southern Oregon Intertie Trail lies half a mile away, and the Auger Valley Trail is about 2 miles off. Thompson campground is roughly 4 miles away, and the Oc&E Woods Line State Trail is about 5 miles out.
