Olokot Campground is a Forest Service campground in Oregon's Hells Canyon National Recreation Area, part of the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest. It sits within the recreation area's ranger district, and the Forest Service manages the land. The site is simple, with vault toilets as the only listed amenity. A fee is charged for stays. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Joseph weather station show July and August highs around 79 to 80°F, with only five or six wet days a month. Winters there are cold, with January highs near 35°F and lows around 19°F. Blackhorse Campground is about half a mile away, and Coverdale Campground is roughly 3.8 miles off. Paddlers can reach Gumboot Creek at about 2.9 miles and the Imnaha River at about 6 miles.
