Lower Camp Creek Forest Camp is a Forest Service campground in the Blue Mountain Ranger District of Malheur National Forest in Oregon. It is a simple base for an overnight stay in the forest, with vault toilets as the only facility on site. A fee is charged for stays here, so plan on paying before you pitch your tent. July and August bring the warmest, driest weather, with typical highs around 84 to 85°F and only about three to four wet days a month, according to averages from a nearby weather station in Long Creek. Winter is cold and snowy, with typical highs near 40°F and about five snow days a month from December through February. The surrounding area offers more to do within a short drive. The Middle Fork John Day River, a canoeing route, is about 5 miles away. Head O' Boulder Forest Camp, another campground, and the Princess Trail are both roughly 8 miles off. Middle Fork Cg is about 10 miles away.
