Dixie Campground is a Forest Service campground in the Blue Mountain Ranger District of Malheur National Forest in eastern Oregon. It serves as a base for berry picking and a jumping-off point for hiking, hunting and exploring the surrounding forest. Vault toilets are the only amenity listed, and a fee is charged. The nearest town is Sumpter, and the Sumpter Valley Interpretive Trail and Davis Creek Trail are both within a short drive. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July and August highs around 83°F with only four or five wet days a month, while winter highs stay near freezing. Davis Creek Trail #244 is about 3.4 miles away. Meadow Trail and Dixie Trail are each about 5.1 miles off, and Deerhorn Forest Camp is about 5.8 miles away.
