Clear Spring is a Forest Service campground in the Paisley Ranger District of the Fremont-Winema National Forest, about an hour southwest of Paisley, Oregon. It sits at roughly 5,400 feet along Dairy Creek, and the site has one picnic table, one fire ring and one vault toilet. Dispersed camping is also available. The campground is primarily used by hunters during hunting season, and rainbow trout can be fished in Dairy Creek. Potable water is on site, but there is no garbage service, so visitors are asked to "pack it in, pack it out." Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Bly show July and August highs around 86°F with only two or three wet days a month, while winter highs sit in the low 40s. Nearby options include Happy Camp, about 1.6 miles away, and Dairy Point Campground, about 3.7 miles away. Hikers can try the Cache Cabin Trail at about 3.4 miles or the Dead Horse Rim Trail at about 4.5 miles.
