Snake's Den is a climbing area in the Appalachian Ranger District of the National Forests in North Carolina, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among the forested ridges of western North Carolina, with several other outdoor spots within a short distance. Fall is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run to highs around 77°F in September and 68°F in October, with October also seeing the fewest wet days of the year. That station sits well below the climbing area, so temperatures at the crags run cooler. Perkins, a hike about 0.4 miles away, and Little Andy, about 0.7 miles away, are the closest outings. Pisgah National Forest offers river fishing at a similar distance, and Corner Rock, another climbing area, lies about 1.1 miles off.
