Eagle Rock is a bouldering area in North Carolina, about 1.7 miles from the community of Fairfield Mountain. It sits among a cluster of climbing and hiking spots, with the North Eagle and Lower Tier climbing areas each about 0.6 miles away and the Weed Patch Mountain Trail about 0.7 miles off. The climbing here is all bouldering, with three routes listed: Weed Patch Lieback at V0, Flap Stack Crack at V1 and Weed Patch Crack at V2. The grades are typical for the area, and the routes are close enough together to make a short session of several problems. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Lake Lure show October highs around 72°F with lows near 47°F, and April is similar at about 72°F by day and 44°F at night. That station sits roughly 780 feet lower than the boulders, so temperatures on the rock run cooler. The Rumbling Bald Ridgeline hike is about 0.7 miles away, and the Broad River offers canoeing about 1.6 miles off. Lake Lure, about 3.3 miles away, is a lake fishing destination.
