Right of Ladder is a climbing area in the Wilcox Lake Wild Forest in New York, managed by the State Department of Conservation. It sits among a cluster of other climbing areas, including Measles Walls, Upper Measles Wall and Wayout Wall, all within about a tenth of a mile. Crane Mountain Path is also close by, making it easy to pair a climb with a walk. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run to highs around 75°F in July, with lows in the mid-50s. That station sits a few hundred feet lower than the area, so temperatures here run a little cooler. The area has six routes, with four trad and two sport. Grades range from 5.2 to 5.10a. Among the named routes are Foretaste (5.2, trad), Rock of Ages (5.7, trad) and Stoned in a Crowded Corner (5.10a, sport).
