Slanting Cracks Wall is a climbing area in the Wilcox Lake Wild Forest in New York, managed by the State Department of Conservation. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots, with Black Arches Wall and Waterfall Wall each about 0.1 mile away and Main Slab about 0.2 mile off. The two routes here, Crisis Inverted and Say Hello to My Little Friend, are both sport climbs rated 5.12c. Summer is the most comfortable time to climb. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run to highs around 75°F in July, with lows in the mid-50s. That station sits about 500 feet lower than the wall, so temperatures on the rock run a little cooler. For a change from climbing, Crane Mountain Path is about 0.9 mile away, and Round Pond Trail is about 3.5 miles off.
