Belleview is a climbing area in New York's Wilcox Lake Wild Forest, managed by the State Department of Conservation. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots, with Belleview Slab just 0.1 mile away and Lower Measles Wall and Crane Mountain each about 0.2 mile off. The area is a compact hub for climbers, with several named routes within a short distance of one another. The climbing here is mostly trad, with a few mixed routes. Five routes are listed, ranging from 5.2 to 5.7 on the YDS scale. Among them are Bart, a mixed route at 5.2, and Unclaimed, a trad route at 5.7. Summer is the most comfortable time to climb. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run to highs around 75°F in July, though that station sits roughly 950 feet lower than the area, so temperatures at the crag run cooler. Winters are cold, with January highs around 25°F. For a change from the rock, Crane Mountain Path is a hike about 0.4 mile away, and Round Pond Trail is about 3 miles off.
